Project Overview
Eaves Court is a modern, care-led retirement development located in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire. Comprising 69 thoughtfully designed one and two-bedroom apartments, the facility offers residents a comfortable and secure living environment with access to various amenities, including a café, beauty salon, cinema room, and landscaped gardens.
To enhance the living experience for residents, One Vision Digital Ltd was commissioned to design and install a comprehensive Satellite Master Antenna Television (SMATV) system throughout the development.
Client Requirements
The primary objectives for the SMATV system installation were:
- Provide access to both terrestrial (Freeview) and satellite (Sky, Freesat) television services in all apartments.
- Maintain high signal quality and reliability across the entire facility.
- Eliminate the need for individual satellite dishes or aerials, preserving the building's aesthetic appeal.
- Allow for future scalability and easy maintenance.
Our Solution
To meet these requirements, One Vision Digital Ltd implemented a robust 5-wire SMATV distribution system, incorporating a Fibre Backbone infrastructure. The installation included:
- Centralised Reception Equipment: Installation of a satellite dish and aerial to receive a comprehensive range of television signals.
- Optical Transmission: Signals from the antenna are converted via coaxial cables into an optical transmitter, which then feeds into a network of splitters and switches.
- Signal Distribution: The optical signals are converted back to coaxial to feed each desired outlet throughout the building, ensuring consistent signal quality.
- Quality Cabling: Use of high-grade coaxial and fibre-optic cabling to ensure minimal signal loss and optimal performance.
This configuration ensures that each apartment receives a full range of television services with excellent picture and sound quality, enhancing the residents' experience.

The successful implementation of the SMATV system at Eaves Court resulted in:
