Project Overview
Battersea Apartments, situated in the vibrant district of Battersea, Central London, comprise two modern residential blocks designed to offer comfortable and contemporary living spaces. To enhance the entertainment options for residents, One Vision Digital Ltd was commissioned to design and install a comprehensive Satellite Master Antenna Television (SMATV) system throughout the apartments.
Client Requirements
The primary objectives for the SMATV system installation were:
- Provide residents with access to both terrestrial (Freeview) and satellite (Sky, Freesat) television services.
- Ensure high-quality signal reception in both lounge and bedroom areas of each apartment.
- Implement a scalable and maintainable infrastructure for future technological advancements.
Our Solution
To meet these requirements, One Vision Digital Ltd implemented a robust 5-wire SMATV distribution system, which included:
- Triax 5-Wire SMATV System: Installation of a Triax 5-wire SMATV system to distribute signals efficiently throughout the building.
- Dual Outlet Configuration: Each apartment was equipped with two outlets—one in the lounge providing access to Sky, Freeview, and Freesat services, and one in the bedroom supplying terrestrial television.
- Signal Distribution: Deployment of high-quality multiswitches and cabling to ensure consistent signal quality across all outlets.
This configuration ensures that each apartment receives a full range of television services with excellent picture and sound quality, enhancing the residents' experience.
Project Outcome
The successful implementation of the SMATV system at Battersea Apartments resulted in:
- Enhanced Resident Satisfaction: Residents enjoy a wide selection of television channels with consistent signal quality in both lounge and bedroom areas.
- Efficient Infrastructure: The centralised system simplifies maintenance and allows for future scalability, ensuring long-term reliability.
- Aesthetic Preservation: The design negates the need for multiple external dishes or aerials, maintaining the development's visual integrity.
