Project Overview

Newport Road, a prominent 4.7-mile stretch extending eastward from Cardiff city centre towards the A48, encompasses a diverse array of residential properties. To enhance the television services for these homes, One Vision Digital Ltd collaborated with Amser to design and install a comprehensive Satellite Master Antenna Television (SMATV) system. The objective was to provide residents with reliable access to both terrestrial and satellite television services, including Freeview, Sky HD, and Sky Q+.

Client Requirements

The primary objectives for the SMATV system installation were:

  • Deliver high-quality terrestrial (Freeview) and satellite (Sky HD, Freesat) television services to each residence.
  • Ensure compatibility with both Sky HD and Sky Q+ services, which require different signal configurations.

  • 5-Wire SMATV Distribution System: Installation of a 5-wire SMATV system to distribute signals efficiently throughout the residential properties.
  • Sky Q+ Integration: Deployment of separate switching units specifically designed for Sky Q+ to ensure seamless integration alongside existing Sky HD services.
  • Signal Distribution: Deployment of high-quality multiswitches and cabling to ensure consistent signal quality across all outlets.

This configuration ensures that each residence receives a full range of television services with excellent picture and sound quality, enhancing the viewing experience for residents.
